My name
is Salifu Mohammed (alaagy). I grew up in the small village of Wa in the upper west region of northern Ghana, called Busa. I moved to the town of Wa after my elementary school where I recieved my secondary education. I continued to pursue my education in the arts at Ghanatta College of Art in the regional capital of Accra. After receiving my certificate in art and design, I enrolled at Ankle College of Art, majoring in drawing and painting.

I have since exhibited at many venues in Ghana. Some of these are; the Golden Tulip Hotel, the British Council of Ghana, the National Theatre of Ghana, and the National Museum and Monument Board of Ghana. Private collections of my paintings can be found in the United States, Canada, England, and Germany.

Since relocating to the Bay Area, I have displayed at the Spirit in Stone Gallery in Sonoma County, CA, Bomani Gallery in San Francisco, CA, as well as Pro Art in Oakland, CA and Town Hall in Seattle, WA. Currently my work is on display at the Aroma Cafe, San Rafael, CA. (See calendar for current dates.)
